Weather Forecast for May 1: Rain in West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Heatwave in Rajasthan

India is witnessing various shades of weather conditions. Some regions are recording pre-Monsoon rains and some regions are observing extremely hot weather conditions.

Talking about the weather conditions across North India, a Western Disturbances is prevailing over Afghanistan and Pakistan. Its induced cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Central Pakistan and North Rajasthan. In wake of the circulation, isolated dust storm or thunderstorm activity is expected over parts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the day temperatures will remain above normal over most parts northwest plains and hilly regions.

Moving to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Bihar and adjoining Jharkhand. In wake of the circulation, we expect light to moderate rains over Gangetic West Bengal, parts of Odisha, Jharkhand and at one or two places over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Moreover, one or two places in Odisha may also receive heavy spells. Meanwhile, Northeast India will continue to record scattered light to moderate rains.

In Central India, dry and hot winds from Pakistan are blowing. Therefore, heatwave conditions will prevail at some places over Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. In fact, weather of Gujarat will also remain dry and hot. However, isolated thunderstorm or light rain may occur over Chhattisgarh.

Lastly in South India, a trough is extending from Jharkhand to Tamil Nadu across Telangana and South Interior Karnataka. In wake of this trough, light to moderate rain or thundershower may occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh. In fact, scattered rain and thundershower will continue to occur over Kerala, some parts of South Interior Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, weather across Telangana and Rayalaseema will remain dry.
