Weather Forecast for March 9: Rain in Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi

Most parts of India are presently witnessing pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers, barring parts of West India.

In South India, Bangalore will continue with light to moderate rains, while Chennai also stands a chance of isolated light rains. All thanks, to the trough that continues to extend from Kerala up to Telangana across Karnataka. With this, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely over Kerala, Interior Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Interior Karnataka.

Another trough is seen extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal up to Madhya Pradesh. This could give light to moderate pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers over parts of Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Kolkata could also witness light to moderate rains during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, northeastern states may see some showers, with moderate spells over Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Up in North India, the Western Disturbance has moved eastwards and is presently over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. This system will give light to moderate rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is now over Punjab and adjoining areas. Also, a trough is extending from this system up to West Uttar Pradesh, giving rains over entire northwestern plains including Delhi-NCR. Few areas could also record thunder squalls. As a result, pleasant weather conditions will prevail over most parts of the region.

Another cyclonic circulation is seen over South Madhya Pradesh, which would give isolated showers over parts of Central India like East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.
