Weather Forecast for March 6: Rain in Delhi, Snow in Jammu and Kashmir

After a long time, an active Western Disturbance seems to be affecting the Western Himalayas and plains of North India. The induced cyclonic circulation is seen over North Rajasthan and adjoining areas of Punjab.

Tomorrow we can expect scattered rain and thundershowers, accompanied by squally winds, at many places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. We cannot rule out light snowfall in the higher reaches like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Batote and adjoining areas.

Coming down to the plains, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh could receive rain and hail storm over the weekend. Gradually, the rain belt will shift towards East Uttar Pradesh. Strong winds will be blowing over the region.

As the Western Disturbance moves eastwards, East Uttar Pradesh and parts of Bihar could receive some rain. Drop in temperatures are likely in North Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh.

The cyclonic circulation over Meghalaya and the trough extending from North Bengal to North Bay of Bengal will bring rain over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.

An anti-cyclonic feature is developing over Northwest Bay. It will continue to feed warm and moist winds over Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Isolated light rain likely in this region.

A small trough is extending from Southeast Arabian Sea to South Karnataka. Coastal parts of Kerala and Karnataka could receive isolated light rainfall.

Temperatures in the plains have been settling 4 to 5 degree Celsius above normal for the last few days. This spell of rain will bring down the day temperatures to about higher twenties.

Maximum and minimum in Delhi will settle at 29 and 15°C respectively.

Mumbai remains hot and humid with maximum and minimum at 33 and 22°C respectively.

Bangalore will similar weather condition with maximum at 33 and minimum will be 19°C.
