The affecting Western Disturbance over the hilly states of North India has now cleared away. With this weather over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will be mainly dry but one or two isolated showers cannot be ruled out.

Similarly, northwestern plains including Punjab, Haryana and Delhi will witness clear and warm weather, with marginal drop in day and night temperatures.

Uttar Pradesh will also continue with clear weather conditions with few areas witnessing partly cloudy sky. With this, weather will not impact the state as it goes for voting in the 6th phase of the Assembly elections on Saturday. Cold northwesterly winds from northern plains continue to merge with humid southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal over East India. As a result, confluence zone continues to prevail over Bihar and adjoining areas of West Bengal. With this, we can expect light to moderate rains over these with some isolated showers over Jharkhand.

Weather will continue to be dry and clear over Central India.

Moving in the southern region of the country, a trough has now developed from Coastal Tamil Nadu to the Comorin region. Now as reiterated by Skymet Weather, rains will now commence over several parts of Tamil Nadu, South interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Bangalore and Chennai are also likely to witness light rains on Saturday which will intensifying further in the subsequent 24 hours. However, rains may spare first day of the second cricket test match between India and Australia scheduled to begin from Saturday.
