The affecting Western Disturbance that had been giving good amount of rain and snow over the hilly states of North India has now started clearing away. However, remnants of the system will still give scattered rains over Jammu and Kashmir and few parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Isolated showers are also likely over the foothills of West Uttar Pradesh.

Now, cold northwesterly winds have once again started blowing over the northern plains, which will arrest the rise in day maximums.

Meanwhile, humid southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal are reaching up to East India. merging of these two opposite winds have led to formation of confluence zone over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar. This may lead to light rains over these areas.

Weather will continue to be dry and clear over Central India.

Down south, a trough can be seen running along the West Coast from Konkan & Goa region up to Kerala. Another trough is also seen extending from South Andaman Sea up to Southwest Bay of Bengal.

All these systems combined together will give light rain and thundershowers over southern parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

These rains will further intensify after the next 24 hours and cover several areas of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu including Bangalore and Chennai.

The rains may also play a spoil sport in the second cricket test match between India and Australia scheduled to begin from Saturday.
