It is just the beginning of the Summer season in India and day temperatures have already started soaring high. Day maximums across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka are settling in the range of 36C to 39C.

In fact, parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha along with adjoining areas of Telangana are already settling beyond 40 degrees. Further, also we do not expect any relief as mercury is likely to increase further and very soon, several parts of these states will witness above 40 degree temperatures.

Moving into South India, pre-Monsoon activities have taken a break for now but recent rainfall has left lots of moisture in the atmosphere. As a result, it will be bright sunny and sultry day for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. Cities like Bangalore and Chennai will also have warm and uneasy weather.

A feeble trough is seen running from Southeast Arabian Sea up to North Interior Karnataka but it would not have much impact over the weather but isolated showers cannot be ruled out over few areas of Kerala and adjoining Coastal Karnataka.

Up in Northeast India, it is the only part of the country to witness on and off rain activity. After remaining on the lower sides, rains will once again pick up pace over the region.

All thanks to the trough extending along the foothills East Himalayas, which will intensify rains over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. In fact, due to its affect, isolated rains or thundershowers may occur over East Bihar and West Bengal.

Now, talking about northern region, the Western Disturbance affecting Jammu and Kashmir has moved away but remnants of the system may give some isolated showers over the state and Himachal Pradesh. However, day will be largely sunny and pleasant.

Meanwhile, northwestern plains will continue with dry weather conditions with bright sunny day. Increased day maximums may even lead to isolated dust storm over Northwest Rajasthan.

Delhi and Kolkata will both witness day maximum around 35 degrees, while Lucknow will see maximum temperature of 36 degrees.

Ahmedabad will be quite warm with maximum temperatures around 39 degrees, while Mumbai and Chennai will settle with 35 degrees.
