Weather Forecast for March 18: Rain in Bangalore, Kolkata; Dust-storm in Rajasthan, Haryana

To start with North India, the Western Disturbance is moving across East Jammu and Kashmir. This system is giving on and off light rain and snow over the hilly region.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana. Due to this dust and thunderstorm activity is expected over north and eastern parts of Rajasthan, South Haryana, Delhi, adjoining West Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh.

Moreover, a trough is extending from this circulation up to South Kerala. Because of this system, Vidarbha, Marathwada region of Maharashtra and adjoining parts of Chhattisgarh may see isolated rain and thundershowers. Strong winds can also be expected over the area.

Similarly, Rayalaseema, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka along with most parts of Kerala may record some rain activity. Bangalore can also witness light rains.

Moving to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Coastal Odisha. A trough is also extending from northeastern states up to this circulation across Bangladesh. In wake of this, rain and thundershowers are expected over West Bengal including Kolkata, coastal parts of Odisha and northeastern states. Hail with gusty winds cannot be ruled out over few places.

Many parts of West India may see a drop in temperatures especially all along the West Coast including Gujarat and Kutch.
