Weather Forecast for March 11: Prolonged spell of rain approaching Delhi, North India

Most parts of the India will start receiving good showers very soon. Rain will commence over the hilly states of North India, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and Northwest Uttar Pradesh from Friday. Light rain seems a possibility in Delhi-NCR and North Madhya Pradesh as well. The Western Disturbance will reach over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region by tomorrow. There is also an induced cyclonic circulation coming up over Central Pakistan. Gradually, by March 12 the intensity and spread of rain will increase. Moderate showers likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Couple of heavy spells cannot be ruled out.

A trough is extending up to North Gujarat. Light rainfall likely in Madhya Maharashtra, West Rajasthan and few pockets of Gujarat.

Another trough is extending from this system to Jharkhand and Odisha region. By March 13 we can expect rain over Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal.

In Northeast, scattered light rain over East Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland.

The trough along the West Coast persists. It will bring isolated light rainfall activity along the coastal stations right up to Mumbai.
