The Pre-Monsoon season in India has kick started with a bang as rains grip the entire country barring parts of West India. All thanks to the several weather systems developed across the country.

Let us begin with North India, where in two back to back Western Disturbances will bring fairly widespread moderate to heavy rains over the entire hilly region of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This will mark the return of chilly weather across the hilly region including famous tourist destinations of Srinagar, Manali, and Shimla.

The system has also induced a trough over plains, which is extending from Punjab to West Bengal across Delhi, North Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. With this, light to moderate rains are likely to lash many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh. Few places may record one or two heavy showers as well. Due to this, mercury is likely to drop across the plains leading to pleasant weather conditions.

Another trough is seen running from West Bengal up to Tamil Nadu across Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Now, both the troughs will continue pound good amount of rains over East India including states of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. Squally winds will blow across the region with few places recording lightening spells as well.

Down South, trough will also pour scattered showers over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka. Major cities of Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai may also some rain and thundershowers during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, western parts of the country will remain dry but the rains across the other parts of the country will impact the weather pattern over the region that could see gradual fall in both the maximum and minimum temperatures.
