North India is receiving some rainfall after a long dry spell. While in Maharashtra, rain seems to be breaking several records.
The prevailing Western Disturbance and the induced cyclonic circulation will bring widespread rainfall in North India. The cyclonic circulation is strong enough to bring widespread rainfall in North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, West Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh. Hills will get only scattered light rains.
This spell of rain will bring relief from the ongoing abnormal heat. Cloud cover and rain could lead to a substantial drop in temperatures.
The trough from this system is extending up to Chhattisgarh. The confluence of anti-cyclonic winds and westerlies will bring widespread rainfall in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. But Gujarat will go dry now, leading to rise in temperatures once again.
Another trough is extending from Coastal Karnataka across coastal Maharashtra up to Gujarat.
This will bring isolated light rainfall along the coastal areas of Karnataka and Kerala.
The cyclonic circulation over Northeast India will bring some light scattered rainfall over the region.
