Weather Forecast for Mar 26: Heatwave likely in Telangana, Rayalaseema, Maharashtra, Karnataka

As we are inching close to the end of March, summer heat can be felt increasing with every passing day.

In North India, the Western Disturbances has moved away. Therefore, mainly dry and pleasant weather would prevail over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, the day temperatures are likely to rise around 2 degree Celsius over Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in wake of the strengthening of the northwesterly winds.

Moving to East India, a trough is extending from Gangetic West Bengal to Andhra Pradesh coast. In wake of this weather system, isolated thunderstorm activity maybe a chance over Coastal Odisha and South Coastal Gangetic West Bengal. In fact, minimum temperatures are expected to drop marginally over Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Meanwhile, day maximums would rise over these regions.

In Northeast, a cyclonic circulation lies over Assam and a trough is extending from Sub Himalayan West Bengal to Arunachal Pradesh. There, rain is likely to intensify over Arunachal Pradesh.

In fact, light rain and thunderstorm activity is expected over Sub Himalayan West, Sikkim and remaining northeastern states.

In Central India, dry northwesterly winds are prevailing; therefore temperatures would rise. In fact, day temperatures might cross 40°C in many parts of Vidarbha and adjoining Marathwada.

Moreover, heat wave conditions are also likely over Vidarbha, North Konkan and Marathwada region. Remaining states such as Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh will also observe hot weather.

Lastly, in South India, a trough extending from Gangetic West Bengal to Andhra Coast may cause isolated thunderstorm activity along the coastal stations towards late afternoon or evening hours. Meanwhile, day temperatures are expected to cross 40°C mark over Telangana, Rayalaseema and Karnataka. In fact, hot weather will also prevail in parts of Tamil Nadu.

A cyclonic circulation also lies over North coastal Karnataka and adjoining regions and a trough is extending from this circulation to Southeast Arabian Sea. These combined weather systems are likely to give rain and thundershower at a few places over Kerala and Karnataka coast.
