Weather Forecast for Mar 17: Rain in Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata; dry weather in Mumbai

The Western Disturbance is moving away which is why dry weather is expected over entire hills of North India. Now, dry northwesterly winds will begin to blow over Northwest India and sky will become clear which will result in rise in maximums which had dropped before. Meanwhile, marginal fall in minimums is expected. Thus, Haryana, Punjab, North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh will remain warm. Delhi weather is also expected to remain dry and temperatures may witness an increase.

The ongoing rainfall activity over Central India will witness a reduction. However, isolated pockets of South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Marathwada may receive light rains. Temperatures of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and South Rajasthan will increase marginally.

A cyclonic circulation is over East Bangladesh due to which light to moderate rains are likely over Northeast India and isolated pockets of Sikkim. A trough is extending from this system across Odisha which will cause light rains over Odisha and West Bengal. Light rains may make an appearance over Kolkata as well. Weather of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and East Uttar Pradesh will remain dry.

A cyclonic circulation is over Southeast Arabian Sea off Karnataka Coast which may give light rains over Coastal and South Interior Karnataka. Mumbai, however, is expected to remain dry. Bengaluru is expected to receive light to moderate rains with cloudy sky. Hyderabad may receive isolated rains as well.

A trough can be seen extending from Andhra Pradesh to South Tamil Nadu therefore we expect light to moderate rains over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Rayalaseema. Rainfall activity is also likely over the city of Chennai.
