Weather Forecast for Mar 17: Delhi pollution to plummet, rains in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh

Beginning with North India, where in the absence of any weather system, weather of plains as well as hills will remain dry. Day temperatures will increase over most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh as well as over hills. Dry northwesterly winds will blow over the region with a speed of 10 to 15 kmph. Delhi pollution may increase marginally but will remain in moderate category over most places.

Talking about Central India, where the weather will also remain dry but due to the formation of a Confluence Zone we expect rains to resume once again over many parts of Vidarbha, Southeast Madhya Pradesh and parts of Chhattisgarh by the late afternoon of March 17. Isolated light rains may also occur over parts of Marathwada. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa will remain dry.

Coming on to East India where an Anti Cyclone is over Northwest Bay of Bengal. Therefore, isolated light rains are forecast for Gangetic West Bengal as well as parts of Coastal Odisha. Meanwhile, weather of Jharkhand, Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh will remain dry. Light rains may occur at one or two places over Arunachal Pradesh and eastern parts of Assam. Day temperatures may increase further over East India.

Talking about South India, where a North-South Trough is seen from Madhya Maharashtra to North Kerala across Tamil Nadu. Therefore, isolated light rains are possible over coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Weather of Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu will remain dry, warm and sunny.
