Weather Forecast for June 8: Rain in Goa, Bangalore and severe heatwave in Rajasthan

June 7, 2016 6:03 PM |

Two weather systems on either side of the coastline are enhancing rainfall activities over the Peninsular India. The cyclonic circulation hovering over the Arabian Sea off the Karnataka coast is gaining strength and will become more marked now. It is keeping the Monsoon surge active and will finally usher in Monsoon along the West Coast up to Mumbai.

The cyclonic circulation in proximity to the East Coast will keep travelling along the Andhra Coast and reach up to Odisha. The coastal stations will continue to receive good showers with heavy at few places. Major cities in the interiors like Bangalore and Mysore will also receive good showers under their influence.

Going up towards North India, the persistent cyclonic circulation near Punjab will continue to bring dust storm and thundershowers at few places in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi-NCR.

However, temperature will continue to rise above 40°C as most of the pre-Monsoon activities will take place only late afternoon hours. We can expect some good rains over the region from the 10th of June onwards.

Pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers are likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Northeastern states will continue to receive scattered rains.

Heatwave conditions will continue to prevail over many parts of Rajasthan. West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat will also witness heatwave for the next 2 days.
