Weather Forecast for June 7: Rain in Goa, Mumbai and Heatwave in Rajasthan

The cyclonic circulation hovering over the Arabian Sea off the Karnataka coast will finally be responsible for bringing the Southwest Monsoon along the entire West Coast. As of now, it is enhancing the rainfall activities over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa. Mumbai will also see light passing showers at some places for the next 3 days. Anytime after the 10th of June we could see real Mumbai rains and possibly Monsoon showers within a week. The surge is active in the Western Ghats but Kerala is seeing reduced rainfall activity now.

The upper air cyclonic circulation in the westcentral Bay of Bengal will enhance rainfall activities in coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

The trough extending from this system will bring rain and thundershowers over foothills of Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim. Northeastern states will continue to receive scattered rains.

Moving westwards, we can see another cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh with a trough extending up to Karnataka. Maharashtra has seen some good rains in the last few days. This has brought down the temperatures significantly. Some more rains likely in the state during next few days.

Hot weather conditions are prevailing over Northern plains. But, there is a circulation over Pakistan with a trough extending up to Uttar Pradesh. Accordingly, we could see some dust storm activities over Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Temperatures will be a little above normal around 42 to 43 degree Celsius. Some relief from the heat is likely only after the 10th of June.

Heatwave conditions will continue over many parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and few pockets of Gujarat. Temperatures could even rise above 45 degree Celsius in places like Bikaner, Churu, Phalodi, Jodhpur and Idar.
