Weather Forecast for June 30: Monsoon covers India; rain in Delhi, Konkan, Coastal Karnataka

Beginning with the good news, Monsoon 2018 has covered entire country on June 29, which is almost more than 15 days ahead of its schedule. With this, the Monsoon trough has also established and the Axis of Monsoon trough is running from Jaisalmer, Kota, TikamGarh and Balasore.

Not only this, we expect Monsoon rains to lash most parts of the country during the next 48 hours.

Beginning with North India, light to moderate rains, with isolated heavy spells are likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Threat of landslides also looms large over these ares. Similar, weather is expected along the foothills of Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh.

All thanks to the Western Disturbance over Jammu & Kashmir and a cyclonic circulation over Punjab and nearby areas. Meanwhile, light to moderate showers may occur over Haryana, Delhi-NCR and North Rajasthan.

In east & northeast region, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland would witness good showers. There is possibility of light rains over Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh as well.

Moving onto Central parts; scattered rains with reduce intensity would continue over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Madhya Maharashtra. South Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh can too see isolated rains.

Meanwhile, the off shore trough along the West Coast persists, hence light to moderate showers would continue over Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka; while the entertainment hub Mumbai and God’s own country Kerala would witness light showers.
