Monsoon 2018 has caused very heavy rains over South Gujarat wherein Valsad saw 291 mm of rainfall triggering flash floods over the city. Kolkata too saw very heavy rains in the last 24 hours.
Talking about the weather across the country, a cyclonic circulation is over south Gujarat due to which moderate rains with isolated heavy falls will continue over the state. Meanwhile, the off-shore trough along the West Coast will give moderate showers Coastal Maharashtra to Kerala.

Rain in Mumbai may reduce but light showers with few moderate spells will continue. Scattered rains are also likely over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra with isolated showers over Marathwada, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Another cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan and a trough extending across the central India will give rains over Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. South Rajasthan may also see scattered rains.
Talking about East and North India, Northeast India will continue to see moderate showers with isolated heavy falls. Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal including Kolkata will also see good rains, while East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar may see scattered rains.

Up in North, with winds changing direction, pre-Monsoon rains would now pick up pace across West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, North Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. Uttarakhand may see moderate showers.
