Weather Forecast for June 24: Rain in Mumbai, Surat, Mangaluru

The wind pattern is changing along the West Coast and eastern parts of the country. Therefore, situations are becoming favourable to cover parts of South Gujarat, most parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Assam and Northeast Bihar.

In south india, the off-shore trough extending from South Gujarat Coast to Kerala is likely to give moderate to heavy rains with few very heavy spells along the West Coast including, Surat, Valsad, Mumbai, Mangaluru and Goa. In fact, moderate rain is also over most parts of Maharashtra, west Madhya Pradesh, south Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh coast. Meanwhile, remaining parts of southern peninsula will also record light rain with few moderate spells.

In east India, a cyclonic circulation is over East Uttar Pradesh and a trough is extending from this system to Northeast Bay of Bengal. These systems would give moderate to heavy rain over the northeastern states, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. In fact, rains will also increase over the foothills of Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal and South Jharkhand.
Due to southerly winds, rain and thundershower activity is likely over South Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat. Meanwhile, heatwave conditions to prevail in pockets of North Rajasthan.

In North India, a Western Disturbance is moving across East Jammu and Kashmir. Thus, isolated activity is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and North West Uttar Pradesh. In fact Delhi may also witness isolated thunderstorm activity.
