Weather Forecast for June 24: Heavy Monsoon rains in Karnataka, Goa, Bihar, UP, Northeast

Monsoon remains vigorous over Goa, Coastal Karnataka and adjoining parts of North Kerala on account of the active off-shore trough running along the parts of West Coast. Besides this, cyclonic circulations on either side of the coast continues to persist in mid-levels. Both the Monsoon systems are likely to be more marked by June 26 and enhance the rain activity over most parts of the country. With this, rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka and Goa with few spells of very heavy to extremely heavy rains. Adjoining parts of North Kerala and Konkan including Mumbai will also see good rains on Friday.

While, normal Monsoon conditions will be seen over interiors of Peninsular India and coastal Tamil Nadu and cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai could witness scattered light to moderate showers.

With the further advancement of Monsoon, South Coastal Gujarat is likely to see some rain and thundershowers on Friday. Similarly, parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will also continue with scattered light Monsoon rain.

Meanwhile in north, the east-west trough continues to extend from Punjab up to Northeast India, with two cyclonic circulations embedded over it. First circulation can be seen over Punjab and adjoining areas, while another can be seen over East Uttar Pradesh region. With this, the on-going pre-Monsoon weather activity of thundershowers and dust storm will continue over northern plains including Delhi.

While, Monsoon rains will enhance over foothills of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. And all these places are likely to record moderate to heavy with isolated very heavy rains on Friday.
