Weather Forecast for June 21: Thundershowers in Delhi-NCR; Monsoon rain in Mumbai, Chennai, Pune

Monsoon has finally entered Mumbai after a really long wait. Simultaneously, it has covered some more parts of Maharashtra and situation remains favourable for its further advance progress. On and off rains will now continue over Mumbai, Pune and adjoining g areas.

The upper air cyclonic circulation over Vidarbha and adjoining areas is likely to move northwestwards. It will bring fairly widespread rain over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. The rainfall belt will expand and cover South Gujarat and Saurashtra, Odisha and also parts of West Bengal. But the intensity of rainfall will decrease over the interiors of Maharashtra.

The trough along the West Coast will bring widespread rains over the region. Monsoon has now taken under its purview almost the entire Peninsular India. Good showers are also likely in Andhra Pradesh, North Tamil Nadu including Chennai and interiors of Peninsular India. Expect some rainfall in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Going up to North India.. There is a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan. A trough is extending from this system up to the West Bengal. A good spell of dust storm and thundershowers are likely along the foothills of Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, North Bengal and Sikkim. Delhi could also see some Pre-Monsoon activities tomorrow.

Northeast will receive only scattered rains. We do not expect very heavy showers tomorrow.
