Country is presently witnessing weak Monsoon conditions, with rains confined to West Coast and northeastern states only. In absence of any major weather system and predominance of dry northwesterly winds, we do not expect any advancement of Southwest Monsoon for at least the next 4-5 days.

In Southern Peninsula, the trough extending from North Interior parts of Karnataka up to Kerala Coast would give moderate to heavy with one or two extremely heavy showers over south Konkan Goa in the next 48 hours. While Coastal Karnataka and parts of Kerala may receive moderate to heavy rainfall.
Besides this, light to moderate rains may occur over North Interior Karnataka and Telangana. The rain intensity will remain subdued over Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu; hence isolated showers cannot be ruled out.
Looking at east and northeastern region; the rain intensity has reduced over Northeast India. But, light to moderate Monsoon rains will continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and parts of Assam. Moreover, the devastating flood conditions in Assam, Mizoram and Tripura would improve to some extent, bringing in some relief. The remaining northeastern states would witness light showers only.
Meanwhile in East India, with a cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar, isolated showers will bring relief from hot and humid weather in East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.
Speaking about Central region, the trough passing through East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha would give light to moderate showers over the stated areas along with Konkan & Goa and parts of Marathwada.

Light rain show is also likely in Mumbai, while hot and dry weather will persist in South Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Lastly, Northern region, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan. Hence, isolated showers are expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile in plains, hot and dry weather will continue over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh.
