Incessant rains have been lashing the West Coast including Kerala. Seems like Monsoon is here! During last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains have been observed over Kerala and adjoining Karnataka Coast. These rains will continue over the region. Interiors of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu may also receive light to moderate rain at many places. Tomorrow, Bangalore will receive light rainfall. Hyderabad and Chennai will see only isolated rains for now. In these cities the intensity could increase after 4th or 5th of June.

The upper air cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep and Kerala coast is gradually moving along the west coast, enhancing the rainfall activities over the region.

A cyclonic circulation is seen over Marathwada. A trough is joining this system with another one over North Chhattisgarh. Therefore, we can expect scattered rainfall activities over Marathwada, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.

Moving further up towards North India, we could see a trough extending from Northwest Rajasthan to Gangetic West Bengal across South Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. This will bring good showers over West Bengal and eastern parts of Bihar and Northeastern states.

While most parts of the country will witness a rainy day, Northwest plains will see day temperature shooting up to 40 degree Celsius. Winds will change direction and start blowing from the west or northwest. These hot and dry winds will increase the maximums by 2 to 4 degrees during next 48 hours. The hills will also witness above normal temperatures.

Heatwave will make a comeback over isolated pockets of Vidarbha and Rajasthan.
