The cyclonic circulation in west-central Bay of Bengal has now moved in land and is marked over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Maharashtra and Odisha. With this, we can expect light to moderate rain over Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Vidarbha and Marathwada regions on Sunday. Few places may record heavy to very heavy showers as well.
Meanwhile, the system has also activated the off-shore trough running along the West Coast, which will bring moderate to heavy showers all over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Konkan & Goa region. Interior parts of the region may also see some rain activity.
Another cyclonic circulation is seen over North Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana and Punjab. A trough is seen connecting these circulations, across Madhya Pradesh.
Accordingly, rain and thundershowers are likely all along the well-marked trough line. However due to lack of moisture, northern plains will not witness any rains but isolated dust storm or thunderstorm activity cannot be ruled out.
Monsoon will remain active over Northeast and East India. With this, light to moderate rain with few heavy spells will continue over northeastern states including Bihar, Jharkhand and sub-Himalayan West Bengal on Sunday.
