The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass across Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal. For now, further progress of Monsoon is not anticipated during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Moving on to the weather conditions across country, a fresh Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir may give scattered light rain over the state along with its neighboring allies of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation over North Rajasthan, Punjab and adjoining Pakistan may cause dust over the northwestern plains including Delhi-NCR.

What’s more, the night temperatures are expected to settle above the normal by 3 to 5 degrees in places like Agra, Amritsar, Rohtak, Narnaul and Ludhiana.

Let’s now have look at the east and northeastern parts, we can see two cyclonic circulations, one over Assam and the other over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Together these would cause fairly widespread rain and thundershowers accompanied with strong winds over the northeastern states. In fact, heavy to very heavy spells are also in the offing at many places. With these downpours, the flood situation in Assam and Tripura may aggravate.

Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha would witness isolated rain and thundershowers.

In Central region, the Monsoon is yet to arrive, so dry weather will prevail in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra.

Chhattisgarh may receive rain activity but that would just be isolated. All thanks to the trough running from Jharkhand up to South India across Chhattisgarh.

Last but not the least, only light rain is expected over Konkan & Goa including Mumbai, while fairly widespread rain along with heavy to very heavy spells at few places are expected over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka. This would be on account of the off shore trough along the West Coast.

Besides this, isolated rain cannot be ruled out over Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Interior Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, moderate rain is likely along the coastline of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh at some places.
To end, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands may witness some rain and thundershowers.
