June 13, 2018 5:16 PM |

Monsoon surge has now weakened, resulting in significant decrease in rainfall across the country barring parts of Northeast India.

The cyclonic circulation over Northeast India and a trough running from this system would give moderate to heavy showers over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, parts of Assam and Meghalaya.

Scattered rains are likely over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Similar rains are likely along the foothills of Uttar Pradesh, East Bihar, Jharkhand, and parts of Odisha.

Meanwhile in South, the off-shore along the West Coast has now become inactive. Thus, light to moderate Monsoon rains will be seen over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Konkan & Goa would also settle with light rains and at one or two places over Interior Karnataka, Interior Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, Telangana, remaining parts of Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra will be dry.

Moving up in Central and Northwest India, moderate dry and hot northwesterly winds from Rajasthan and Middle East will continue to blow. Thus, dry and hot weather along with dust haze will prevail over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
