A feeble trough is persisting along the West Coast. It will continue to bring fairly moderate rains with heavy at few places over Kerala, Karnataka, Konkan & Goa.
Gradually the rain belt will shift further north and possibly usher in Monsoon 2016 over coastal Maharashtra including Mumbai.
But, Monsoon will remain subdued over South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema. Scattered rains will continue over North Interior Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Moving northwards, we can see a trough extending from Punjab to North Bay of Bengal. Expect some scattered dust storm followed by thundershowers in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
In central India, scattered light to moderate rains are likely over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.
There are two cyclonic circulations – one is marked over Bihar and adjoining Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. The other one can be seen over Assam and Meghalaya. Due to moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal, the intensity rain will increase over Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and foothills of Bihar. Good showers likely over these regions.
Heatwave conditions have abated from almost entire India. Temperatures still mid-forties over parts of East Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. But the upcoming spell of rain will bring down temperatures here as well.
