Monsoon remains active over Kerala, while it was vigorous over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. All thanks to a cyclonic circulation over east central Bay of Bengal. Hence, moderate to heavy rains are expected over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Meanwhile, the West Coast of India including Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and Konkan and Goa will continue with good rains, while southern parts of Gujarat may see scattered showers.
Mumbai will now see rise in rain intensity and moderate showers could lash the city in next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Chennai would see light rain and thundershowers.
Another cyclonic circulation is seen over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining area. A trough is also extending from this system up to Interior Karnataka.
In wake of this, Telangana including Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will witness light to moderate rains.
Up in North India, a fresh Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir that would give light to moderate rain and thundershowers over the state along with Himachal Pradesh and few pockets of Uttarakhand.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is marked over Central Pakistan. A trough is extending from this system up to the cyclonic circulation over Andhra Pradesh. Another cyclonic circulation is embedded on the trough over Jharkhand.
With this, scattered light to moderate rains are likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh, which will abate the heatwave from the region and temperatures will also fall considerably.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
In central India, many parts of Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh will see rain and thundershower activities. One or two heavy spells cannot be ruled out.
In East India also, good rains are expected over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and parts of Odisha.
Northeast region, a cyclonic circulation is over Assam and Meghalaya; however, rains will remain subdued over northeastern states.
