Monsoon remains active over Kerala, and in parts of northeast India including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the last 24 hours. The western arm of Monsoon is passing through Tondi and Kochi while the eastern arm is running through Agartala, Williamnagar and Kokrajhar.
Let us now have a look at the weather conditions across the country.
Starting with South India, a cyclonic circulation lies over central parts of Arabian Sea off Maharashtra coast and a trough is extending from this system up to Kerala and Karnataka Coast. Due to this system, moderate to heavy rain will continue over some places in Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
While light rain will continue over rest parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, South Madhya Pradesh and few places over Gujarat.
Moving to East and Northeast region, a cyclonic circulation lies over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. With this, moderate to heavy rain will continue at some places over Northeastern states, while light rainfall over rest Northeast, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Another trough is extending from this system up to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Jharkhand and Coastal Odisha. This may give light rain over Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Heatwave conditions will prevail with moderate warm winds over Indo-Gangetic Plains, northern parts of Madhya Pradesh and in some pockets of Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. Weather will continue to be very hot over Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan.
