Weather Forecast for Jun 22: Light rains in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi

Monsoon has advanced further and has covered more parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar. In fact, weather conditions remain conducive for its further progress into Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.

Now let us have a look at the weather systems across the country.

The Western Disturbance continues to move across Jammu and Kashmir, while its induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and Northwest Rajasthan.

Not only this, the east-west trough also runs from this system up to Northwest Bay of Bengal across Indo-Gangetic plains and a cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh.

With this, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely over North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. Delhi could also see some isolated rains on Thursday.

Meanwhile in East India, light to moderate rains with some heavy showers are likely to continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, West Assam, East Bihar, Jharkhand and foothills of Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, rest of northeastern states and Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata will record light Monsoon showers.

Another trough is seen running from Central Uttar Pradesh till Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. With this, scattered showers are likely all along the well-marked trough line over places such as East and North Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. Parts of Telangana and Vidarbha could also see some light rains.

Down south, the feeble off-shore trough continues to extend along West Coast. With this, moderate showers may occur over Coastal Karnataka but Kerala, Konkan & Goa and South Gujarat could see some light rains only.

Mumbai will also have to settle with light showers.

Monsoon will remain subdued over Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, Gujarat and West Rajasthan are the only two pockets of the country to witness dry weather conditions.
