Weather Forecast for Jun 19: Heavy rain in Northeast, Punjab; Light rain in Maharashtra, Haryana

Favorable conditions are developing for further advancement of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Chhattisgarh, remaining parts of Odisha and some more parts of Jharkhand and Bihar.

Talking about the Monsoon conditions during the last 24 hours, it remained active over Northeast India, giving moderate to heavy rainfall over several parts.

In North, a Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir which would give light to moderate rain over many places of the state along with its neighboring states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

An induced cyclonic circulation is over North Pakistan. Also a trough is extending from Punjab up to Northeast India. With this, we can expect moderate to heavy rain over North Punjab, while light to moderate rains may occur over rest of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, scattered showers cannot be ruled out over Delhi-NCR and North Rajasthan.

Moving to east & northeast side, a cyclonic circulation is embedded on the trough that extends over Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. With this, we can expect rains to intensify over central and eastern parts of the state along with North Bihar, while scattered rains will continue over rest of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. For now, good rains will continue over several parts of northeastern states, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Coming to Central region, southern parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and North Madhya Pradesh will remain hot and dry, while Chhattisgarh, South Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha will receive scattered light rain and thundershowers.

Down south, the off shore trough is running along the West Coast from South Maharashtra to Kerala Coast. In wake of this, light to moderate rains are likely over coastal and interior parts of Karnataka, on the other hand the rain intensity will lessen over Konkan and Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema wherein subdued rains cannot be ruled out.

Another trough is extending along the East Coast which would give good rains over the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana including Hyderabad.
