Weather Forecast for Jun 18: Subdued Monsoon rains in Mumbai; Rain in Hyderabad, Delhi

Favorable conditions are developing for further advancement of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, remaining parts of Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar.

Talking about the Monsoon conditions during last 24 hours, it remained active to vigorous over Northeast India, giving heavy to extremely heavy rainfall several parts.

Let us now see the weather conditions across India:

The Western Disturbance is moving away eastwards; however it will give scattered rains over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and isolated parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. With this, rain and thundershowers with squally winds may occur over Delhi, Haryana and North Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, isolated showers cannot be ruled out over Punjab and North of Rajasthan.

Moving to east & northeast side, two cyclonic circulations are embedded on a trough that is extending close to the foothills of Uttar Pradesh up to Northeast India, one over Bihar and the other over East Assam. In wake of these weather systems, heavy rains with extremely heavy spells are likely over parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. The rest of northeastern states may see moderate rains.

Another trough extends from Bihar to Andhra Pradesh Coast. With this, isolated to scattered showers are possible over East Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. Light showers are also likely over Kolkata.

Coming to Central region, rain and thundershowers are expected over South of Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra, while scattered rains with isolated heavy spells cannot be ruled out over Vidarbha and Marathwada. Meanwhile, Coastal Gujarat and North Konkan including Mumbai will see subdued rains.

Down south the off shore trough is running along the West Coast from Karnataka to Kerala Coast. In wake of this, active Monsoon conditions will prevail over coastal parts of Goa and Karnataka, North Kerala, Telangana including Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh. Subdued rains over rest of Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
