Weather Forecast for July 9: Heavy Monsoon rains to continue in flood hit Madhya Pradesh

July 8, 2016 4:10 PM |

The fresh cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha has moved inland in northwest direction and has merged with the prevailing weather system over Northeast Madhya Pradesh. It is now seen over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. With this, good Monsoon showers are likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra on Saturday. Parts of East India such as Bihar and West Bengal could also see light to moderate rain and thundershowers under the influence of the system.

Up in Northeast India, scattered moderate showers will continue with isolated heavy rains over parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.

Down south, the off-shore trough continues to run along the West Coast but it is active only over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Thus on Saturday, we can expect moderate Monsoon showers over these two regions, while Konkan & Goa will see subdued rainfall activity only. Similar weather activity will be also seen over interiors of Peninsular India.

Up in North, the cyclonic circulation continues to persist over Central Pakistan and trough is running from this system across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, through this system and further up to Bay of Bengal. However, we cannot expect any major activity over the Northwest India. Plains could see isolated light patchy rains on Saturday but West Uttar Pradesh could see some scattered rains.
