Weather Forecast for July 7: Rains in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Northeast India

A Western Disturbance is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir and its induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. A trough is also seen running from North Punjab up to Northeast Bay of Bengal. Due to these weather systems, scattered light to moderate rains are possible over Jammu and Kashmir. While, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may record light rains. However, isolated rains cannot be ruled out over Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. North Rajasthan will continue to remain dry.

Coming to east & northeast region, a cyclonic circulation is seen persisting over East Uttar Pradesh. While another cyclonic circulation is seen lying over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. With this, moderate rains at many places with few heavy spells may occur over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya. There will be no relief from the massive floods in West Assam. While Jharkhand, West Bengal and other northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura will witness light to moderate rains during the next 24 hours.

Moving to Central India, East Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh may witness scattered showers but other parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Marathwada may witness light rains at one or two places. While most parts of Gujarat will remain dry.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Down South, an off shore trough is seen extending from Maharashtra Coast up to Kerala Coast. With this, light to moderate rains will continue over many places of Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa and few parts of Kerala. Mumbai is also likely to receive light rains. Meanwhile, isolated light rains may occur over Madhya Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka and Coastal Tamil Nadu. While, the weather will remain dry over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana and other parts of Tamil Nadu.

Talking about the major cities of India, Kolkata and Bengaluru will record light to moderate rains, while Lucknow will continue to receive heavy showers for the next 24 hours.
