July 3, 2016 6:50 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Southwest Monsoon has now covered entire Punjab, Haryana and East Rajasthan. The cumulative rainfall deficiency stands at 9%.

Situation remains grim in Uttarakhand as more heavy showers are likely over the hilly state during next 24 hours. Thereafter, rain intensity will decrease but it will take some more days for waters to recede.

The cyclonic circulation persists over Punjab and adjoining areas. Due to this weather system heavy rainfall is likely over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh.

A trough is extending from this system up to the Bay of Bengal, across the cyclonic circulation over North Madhya Pradesh. As a result we can expect moderate rainfall over most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Isolated places could receive heavy showers as well.

The low pressure will shift in the northwest direction, leading to good rains over East India including Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.

The cyclonic circulation over Assam and Meghalaya will bring heavy to very heavy rainfall over these two states along with Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

The off shore trough is still active from South Gujarat to North Kerala. Heavy rains will continue over Konkan & Goa, South Gujarat and Coastal Karnataka. Monsoon will remain subdued over interiors of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
