Weather Forecast for July 3: Monsoon reaches Delhi NCR; Heavy rains in Mumbai, Uttarakhand

Southwest Monsoon has hit Delhi-NCR and has also covered entire Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. The Northern Limit of Monsoon now passes through Barmer, Sikar, Sonepat, Shimla, Dharamshala, Pahalgam.

In North, the Western Disturbance persists over Jammu and Kashmir, due to this, light to moderate rains are likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. While its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Haryana and Northwest Punjab, due to which moderate to heavy rain may occur over Uttarakhand, while light to moderate likely over Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. A feeble cyclonic circulation also lies over Rajasthan which will give light rain at some places over East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Moving to east & northeast region, another cyclonic circulation is seen over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to which moderate to heavy rainfall is likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeastern states. Meanwhile, northeastern states may continue to observe heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over few parts. Chances of flooding cannot be ruled out over Assam and Manipur.

Another cyclonic circulation is marked over Northwest West Bengal and Odisha Coast, this system will give light to moderate rain over West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and isolated Telangana.

Coming to Central India, moderate rains are expected over few places of Odisha and Chhattisgarh. While East and North Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh will record light rains.

Live status of Lightning and thunderlightning-in-bengaluru

Down south, an off shore trough is extending from South Gujarat coast to Lakshadweep. With this, moderate rains will continue over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa. Mumbai will continue recording moderate to heavy showers. Light showers may show up over South Gujarat. Meanwhile, subdued rains are likely over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka.
