Monsoon finally enters Delhi! Southwest Monsoon has also advanced over most parts of Haryana and Punjab. It has covered the remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh. We can see that the monsoon line has also covered some parts of East Rajasthan including Jaipur
Conditions are favourable for onset of Southwest Monsoon over remaining parts of East Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab.
During next 48 hours, good rains are likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Northwest Madhya Pradesh. Up in the hills, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will receive good rains. Isolated heavy showers cannot be ruled out over Uttarakhand.
The low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has moved inland. It is likely to move in a Northwest direction and by tomorrow it will reach Bihar and Jharkhand area. Widespread good showers are likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. North Odisha and Chhattisgarh will also receive good Monsoon showers tomorrow.
Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada will receive light rains for now. Few moderate rainy spells are likely over many parts of Gujarat, expect for Kutch. In West Rajasthan places like Barmer and Jaisalmer will remain dry.
Northeast India will continue to receive moderate spells of rain. But, heavy showers are likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
The Monsoon off shore trough is active from South Gujarat to North Kerala. Heavy rains will continue over Konkan & Goa. Southern parts of Kerala will receive light rainfall, while Monsoon will remain subdued over interiors of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
