Weather Forecast for July 25: Heavy rain in Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Rajkot; floods to persist in Gujarat

A low pressure area is over south central parts of Rajasthan and a trough is extending from this system. Thus, moderate to heavy rains will continue over South Rajasthan and North Gujarat. Ahmedabad, Rajkot will also continue with good showers.

Meanwhile the flood situation is expected to remain grim and relief is only expected around July 26. Other parts of central India including Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh may witness light rains with isolated heavy showers.

The low pressure area has intensified to a well marked low and now lies over Jharkhand and adjoining areas. Thus, heavy to heavy rains will continue over Jharkhand, parts of Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata, North Odisha and North Chhattisgarh. Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh will witness light to moderate showers as well. Northeast India will continue to witness good showers while remaining parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh will witness light showers.

Up North, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir. Light to moderate rains are likely over parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Southern districts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive one or two heavy spells of rain. Meanwhile, spot rains for short durations will continue over parts of Haryana, Rest of Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh.

The off shore trough continues to run along the West Coast from South Gujarat up to Maharashtra Coast. With this, good rains will continue over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai along with Coastal Karnataka, while rains will reduce over Kerala region.

On the other hand, Southern Peninsula including parts of Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana will continue to remain dry.
