Weather Forecast for July 21: Rain in Delhi, Kolkata; Flood threat in Odisha, Chhattisgarh

The fresh low pressure area over North Odisha and adjoining West Bengal would give moderate to heavy rains with isolated very heavy falls over Odisha, parts of Chhattisgarh and North Telangana. These rains may trigger floods over Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Light to moderate rains are possible over parts of Jharkhand, West Bengal including Kolkata, Sikkim and Northeast India. East Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow may see light to moderate rains.

Rains will now reduce over Gujarat, but Madhya Pradesh will continue receiving light to moderate rains with few heavy spells. Thus, flood situation in the state would remain grim.

The off shore trough running along the West Coast will give light to moderate showers over Konkan & Goa, Kerala along with few heavy spells over Coastal Karnataka. Mumbai will only see light rains. Light rain is also possible over Interior Karnataka.

Finally up North, two cyclonic circulations can be seen, one over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab and the other over West Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, moderate to heavy showers may occur over Uttarakhand that may cause landslides and cloudbursts.

Further, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells are possible over parts of Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, parts of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh with light to moderate rain over Delhi, Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.
