Monsoon continues to lash the foothills of the Himalayas. Blame it on the Monsoon trough which is likely to move further upwards. It will move across Jammu, Dehradun, Gorakhpur and further through upper parts of Assam. The Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir will move in a northeast direction. Rainfall will reduce significantly over the hills of North India. Conditions will improve in Uttarakhand as well but we cannot rule out moderate rains at few places. Punjab, Haryana and Delhi could receive localised isolated rains. Eastern parts of Rajasthan have received heavy rains in the last 2 days. Now, we can expect the situation to improve over the state.
The focus of Southwest Monsoon will be upon the foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. We can also see a trough extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to North Bay of Bengal. It will keep Monsoon active over Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and parts of Vidarbha. No improvement likely in the flood situation of Assam. Even Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh will receive few heavy spells of rain tomorrow.
The feeble off shore trough will bring scattered moderate to heavy rains over the Konkan region. But, rains will now reduce over Kerala and Karnataka. South Gujarat will also receive light rains.
