Southwest Monsoon has further advanced and covered entire Bihar and most parts of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. The Northern Limit of Monsoon now passes through Barmer, Kota, Gwalior up to Dharamshala and Pahalgam.
In North, rain activity is likely to decrease over the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, however Uttarakhand will continue to record moderate to heavy rains. Chances of landslides cannot be ruled out over the region. While a cyclonic circulation is seen over North Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab, rainfall activities may reduce over northwestern plains.
Another cyclonic circulation is seen over South Rajasthan and adjoining Kutch region. A trough is also extending from this system up to East Assam across South Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. With this, moderate rains may occur over East and Coastal parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Moving to east & northeast region, a cyclonic circulation persists over East Bihar. A trough is running from this system up to the embedded circulation off North Odisha Coast. With this, rains are likely to increase over parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Chance of lightning strikes cannot be ruled out over the area.
Meanwhile northeastern states may continue to observe heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over few parts. Chances of flooding cannot be ruled out over Assam for the next 48 hours.

Coming to Central India, moderate rains are expected over few places of Odisha and North Chhattisgarh. While East and North Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and rest of Chhattisgarh will record light rains. Meanwhile, subdued rains are likely over Madhya Maharashtra and rest of Madhya Pradesh.

Down South, the off shore trough continues to persist along the West Coast. With this, moderate rains will continue over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa. Meanwhile, subdued rains are likely over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka. Light showers may show up over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Telangana.
