Weather Forecast for July 2: Heavy rain in Himachal, Uttarakhand, Sikkim

Beginning with North India, the flooding Jhelum river due to rains has caused closure of schools in the Kashmir Valley. Now, with the Western Disturbance over North Jammu and Kashmir, light to moderate rains will continue over the state but some respite is expected from the flood situation.

Rains will remain on the heavier side over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Punjab and Haryana may see light to moderate rains. Delhi will remain warm with possibility of light rain.

Moving towards East and Northeast India, Assam floods are back again and are likely to continue as moderate to heavy rains are expected over Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

A cyclonic circulation over Bihar and a trough extending from this system will give moderate to heavy rains with few very heavy spells over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. Rains will be light to moderate in Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and rest of Northeast India.

Further – North and East Madhya Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra, South Gujarat will receive light rains. However, North Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh will be dry. The West Coast will see light to moderate rains with few heavy spells in view of the off-shore trough. Meanwhile, Costal Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu may receive light to moderate rains.
