July 18, 2016 5:54 PM | Skymet Weather Team

There are two cyclonic circulations - one over Pakistan and adjoining areas of Punjab and Kashmir region while the other one is lying over West Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The Monsoon trough is passing through these circulations, running across the foothills right up to Northeast India. This weather system will get consumed by the Monsoon trough. There will be some relief from intense rains in Uttarakhand. Rain in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi will become less now. However, foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim should watch out for heavy showers during next two days. We can also see a trough extending from Bihar to west Bengal. It will keep Monsoon active over this region. Flood situation remains grim in Assam. Some heavy spells of rain are also likely in Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.

As and when the Monsoon trough shifts closer to the foothills of the Himalayas, rainfall increases in Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu. During the last 2 days, Andhra Pradesh has seen some very good showers. But, now we can expect rains to decrease in intensity.

On the other side of the Peninsular India, the feeble trough persists. It will bring heavy rains only over Goa and Coastal Karnataka. Central India will be mostly dry for tomorrow.
