The Monsoon trough has now well established, with two cyclonic circulations embedded over it. One can be seen over Southwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining North Madhya Pradesh and Delhi-NCR.

While another one is marked over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab.

The western arm of the trough is passing through plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and center of this system. While the eastern arm of the trough is running closer to foothills of Himalayas.

The western arm will also be shifting closer to the foothills gradually.

In wake of this, fairly widespread heavy to very heavy rains are expected over West Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana on Saturday.

Meanwhile, foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya could see some vigorous rain activity.

Down South, another trough can be seen along Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coast. This is likely to give light rain over Tamil Nadu including Chennai on Saturday, and increasing thereafter on Sunday.

Meanwhile, feeble off-shore continues to run along the West Coast. With this, we can expect some moderate showers over Kerala, while Coastal Karnataka and Konkan & Goa will see light to moderate rains only.

Interiors of Peninsular India and Central India will also continue with subdued Monsoon rains.
