Weather Forecast for July 14: Good rains in Ahmedabad, MP, Mumbai, Kolkata

The prevailing Western Disturbance is moving away from the Jammu and Kashmir region. With this, light rains are possible over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, while Uttarakhand will continue to record few moderate showers. The humid winds are likely to prevail over the plains of Northwest India. With this, patchy rains cannot be ruled out over northwestern plains including Delhi during the next 2-3 days. The day temperatures may also rise and the weather conditions will become warm and humid. 

Coming to Central India, the well-marked low pressure area is now over Central Madhya Pradesh and is likely to intensify into a depression. A cyclonic circulation is also prevailing over West Rajasthan and adjoining South Pakistan. This system is also likely to activate the offshore trough which is seen extending from South Gujarat up to Kerala. Due to this, rains are likely to increase over Southwest Rajasthan and isolated moderate showers are expected to occur over this region. Light rains are likely to continue over eastern parts of Rajasthan.

Moderate to heavy showers along with very heavy spells may occur at many parts of West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, North Madhya Maharashtra and North Konkan region during the next 24 to 48 hours. However, East Madhya Pradesh will witness reduced rainfall activities. Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat will again gear up for some good rains now. 

Down South, light rains are possible over Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and North Tamil Nadu but South Tamil Nadu will remain dry.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Coming to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Northwest Bay of Bengal. Due to this, moderate showers are expected to continue over East Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Few isolated rainfall activities cannot be ruled out over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Meanwhile, rains will reduce significantly over East Uttar Pradesh and in many parts of Bihar.
