Chilly weather has tightened its grip over entire Northwest India and few parts of East India. After maximums, it is now the minimum temperatures that have taken a significant drop.
Dry and cold northwesterly winds are blowing over entire region and are also reaching up to parts of East India.
Several areas of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, while few pockets of Haryana, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will continue to reel under cold day conditions on Saturday.
Minimums will also settle below normal over most parts of the region.
Moderate to dense fog is likely across entire Indo-Gangetic plains, while parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh will witness shallow to moderate fog on Saturday.
Anti-cyclonic circulation, prevailing over Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh, will prevent the cold northwesterlies from reaching up to western parts of the country.
With this, we can expect increase in both maximum and minimum temperatures over Maharashtra and Gujarat during next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the wind confluence zone has further shrunk and is now marked over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly, isolated light rain is likely over parts of South coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, North Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on Saturday.
Moving on to Northeast India, the cyclonic circulation over the region has become less marked. With this, only isolated light to very light rain is expected over the region on Saturday.
Delhi will witness maximum temperature of 18°C, while minimum will be around 4°C.
Mumbai and Bengaluru will be warm at 32°C and 28°C, while nights will be comfortable at 18°C and 17°C, respectively.
