Moderate and cold northwesterly winds continue to blow over northwestern plains. With this, cold day-like conditions are likely to persist over parts of Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
Slight increase is likely in maximum temperature but wintry chill is expected to prevail over the region.
Parts of East India such as Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh will also witness increase in day temperatures during next 24 to 48 hours.
Moving on to central parts of the country, the confluence zone over the region is likely to give light rain over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra on Sunday. Isolated hailstorm may also occur over one or two places. This rain activity is expected intensify further during next 48 hours.
A cyclonic circulation is also seen over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and a trough is extending from this system up to North Karnataka.
The humid southwesterly winds due to this system will continue to infuse moisture over parts of Central India, further strengthening the rain activity over the region.
Meanwhile, Peninsular India will continue to be dry with partly cloudy sky.
Up in Northeast India, the feeble cyclonic circulation is still prevailing over Assam and adjoining areas, giving isolated light rain over parts of Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday.
Maximum temperature in Delhi will rise marginally to 19°C, while the minimum temperatures will continue to settle around 10°C.
While Mumbai and Bengaluru will be warm at 28°C. While, minimums will settle around 17°C and 14°C, respectively.
