Weather Forecast for January 12: Jammu and Kashmir to receive snow; fog to envelop North India

January 11, 2016 6:04 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The Western Disturbance over North Pakistan will bring isolated rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir.

The induced cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan will be responsible for southwesterly winds blowing over entire Northwest India. This will lead to rise in minimum temperatures across the plains. Isolated light rain expected over western parts of Rajasthan. South and Central Rajasthan may not receive rainfall, but clouding is likely over these areas around January 12. These moist southwesterly winds will lead to increase in humidity levels. Therefore, intensity of fog will increase over the plains of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and West Uttar Pradesh. We can expect moderate fog in general and dense in some pockets.

Northeast India will now turn dry. The feeble circulation over Meghalaya and the recent rains have increased the humidity levels. Thus, dense fog will persist over the area.

The anti-cyclone over Vidarbha region will keep the weather mainly dry over Central India.

No weather activity in terms of rainfall likely in Peninsular India. Temperatures will be near normal levels.
