Weather Forecast for Jan 9: Fog in UP, Bihar; Minimums to drop over northern plains

January 8, 2017 5:53 PM |

The Western Disturbance has given fairly widespread rain and snow over the hills of Western Himalayas and is now seen moving eastwards.

With this, we expect weather to improve over the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Icy cold winds from north-northwest direction are likely to start blowing over the northern plains. As a result, minimum temperatures will fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in next 24 to 48 hours.

Talking about fog, intensity of fog will reduce over Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan but East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will continue with dense fog.

The well-marked low pressure area over Southeast Andaman Sea continues to persist, hence scattered light to moderate rains will continue over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Meanwhile, Central and southern parts of the country will continue with dry and clear weather with no major change in temperature profile.
