Weather Forecast for Jan 7: Rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, fog in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana

A Western Disturbance is over North Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this system, light rain and snow is expected over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, clouding will persist over the hills of North India.

Meanwhile, moderate to dense fog is likely over Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Coldwave conditions are expected to occur over parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan with nights remaining very cold.

Coming to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is over East Bangladesh and adjoining South Assam. Thus, light rains may occur over Arunachal Pradesh. Moderate to dense fog will occur over Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, and Northeast India. Cold day conditions are likely over parts of North Uttar Pradesh, East Jharkhand and Bihar.

Coming to Central India, dry and cold winds will continue to blow over the region and nights will remain cold over parts of Madhya Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Moving to South India, a low pressure area is over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining parts of South Andaman Sea. Due to this, moderate rains are expected over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Also, a trough is extending up to Southwest Bay of Bengal. Clouding will persist over central parts of Tamil Nadu. A trough is also seen extending from Lakshadweep to Kerala which is why isolated rains may occur over central parts of Kerala.
