Let’s first take a look at the major events in weather across India: Dense fog persisted over Indo-Gangetic Plains which kept the temperatures down over most parts of northwest and East India. Cold day conditions sustained its grip over many parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Meanwhile, many districts of Rajasthan saw severe cold wave conditions. Delhi also saw lowest minimum of the season at 5°C.
Coming back to the weather forecast of East and Northeast India, dense fog will continue over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

A cyclonic circulation is persisting over East Bangladesh. So, moderate to dense fog is possible over most parts of Meghalaya, West Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Moving down, light to moderate rains are predicted over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Weather will remain dry over the entire southern peninsula. Temperatures are expected to decrease marginally over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In Central India, the weather will remain dry over the entire region. Days would be comfortable, with bright sunshine followed by cold nights. Freezing temperatures are expected over isolated places of South Rajasthan.
Lastly in North and Northwest India, a feeble Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. In wake of this weather system, scattered rain and snow is possible over Jammu and Kashmir and isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, dry and cold northwesterly winds will prevail over northwestern plains. So, both maximum and minimum temperatures will remain below the normal over most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Also, dense to very dense fog will persist over the mentioned regions during the morning hours.
